The city of Forest Lake, Minnesota is located northeast of St. Paul and is located in the northwestern corner of Washington County. A large suburb with an area of 35 square miles, Forest Lake is home to over 19,000 residents. An active and dynamic community, the city has extensive community events and public spaces which residents enjoy. One of the greatest features of the community is its wildlife areas. The city is located on a lake that shares its name, Forest Lake, and is one of the 100 biggest lakes in Minnesota. Forest Lake is 26 miles (26 minutes) away from St. Paul. The main routes within the city include US Highway 61 and Interstate 35 which splits into Interstates 35W and 35E near the southwest corner of the city. These routes connect the city with its nearby neighbors as well as the majority of the Twin Cities metro. For residents seeking urban amenities, a short drive connects them with the best that Minnesota has to offer. The sights, sounds, smells, and sensations of the city are within driving distance for Forest Lake residents, providing them with the best of rural, suburban, and urban living.
