The city of Blaine, Minnesota is home to over 60 parks and 70 miles of trails. With so much outdoor space dedicated to passive and active recreation, residents and visitors alike have no shortage of places to explore. Park options range from large, community parks to small neighborhood open spaces. Some of the most notable parks in Blaine include:

Pioneer Park: At 100 acres, Pioneer Park is one of the largest parks within the city of Blaine. Ideal for those seeking a passive outdoor experience, Pioneer Park offers very few active amenities. What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in scenic beauty. The park features winding trails through a natural, wooded area. A small creek runs through the park and there are several ponds that visitors can stop at. Additionally, picnic facilities make this park an ideal location for an afternoon stroll and picnic. Visitors will be sure to enjoy the abundant wildlife within this park’s forest habitat.

Bunker Hills Regional Park: Bunker Hills Regional Park is one of the largest regional parks in the area. Owned and operated by Anoka County, this massive 1,600-acre park is located in the neighboring city of and has just about every amenity imaginable. Visitors have access to archery, biking and hiking trails, campsites, cross country skiing trails, disc golf, Bunker Beach Water Park, a dog park, Bunker Hills Golf Club, horseback riding trails, picnic and playground facilities, and more. Both the water park and the golf course have a fee, but are local favorites. Bunker Beach Water Park includes a wave pool, waterslides, a lazy river, an obstacle course, a climbing wall, basketball nets, a sand play area, and sand volleyball courts. Perfect for birthday parties or a hot summer day, the Bunker Beach Water Park is a great destination for the community. Bunker Hills Golf Club is recognized as one of the top 25 public golf courses in the nation. Known for its challenging layout with seventy-five bunkers, the course is renowned within Minnesota. The Club also is host to Kendall’s Tavern & Chophouse and the Bunker Hills Event Center.

Lochness Park: Lochness Park is another large park found within the city of Blaine. At nearly 90 acres, the park is a community favorite due to the adjacent Lochness Lake. The lake is a great fishing destination, because it is non-motorized. Visitors can fish on the lake using canoes or kayaks, or they can make use of the park’s fishing dock. The park also features picnic facilities, trails, and a 9 hole disc golf course.

Laddie Lake Park: Laddie Lake Park is one of the more amenity rich parks within the city of Blaine. Visitors enjoy the baseball and softball fields, basketball court, playground, tennis courts, picnic shelter, open play field, walking trails, and the adjacent Laddie Lake. Especially busy during the warmer months, Laddie Lake Park is 15 acres of fun for the family.

Lakeside Commons Park: One of the most popular destinations during the warmer months, Lakeside Commons Park is a great place to bring the whole family on a sunny day. The park is packed with wonderful active amenities. Visitors will enjoy the swimming beach, splash pad, volleyball court, boathouse, and fishing dock. Additionally, the park includes an open play field, public restrooms, picnic facilities, walking trails, and a playground. Ideal for visitors of all ages, Lakeside Commons Park is sure to be a family favorite.
