The North St. Paul, Minnesota community  is served by Independent School District 622. The district enrolls students in the communities of North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale, Lake Elmo, Landfall, Pine Springs, and Woodbury. In total, the district serves over 74,000 residents over 42 square miles of land. Within North St. Paul itself, there are three public elementary schools, two private schools, and one public high school.

A notable elementary school in North St. Paul is Cowern Elementary. At Cowern Elementary, the goal of the staff is that every student, without exception, will gain the foundational skills necessary to succeed beyond elementary school. Teachers at the school seek to develop students into lifelong learners by creating a safe environment that challenges students with meaningful learning experiences. The school offers a variety of helpful programs to families, including early childhood education and high potential programs.

Another elementary school located in North St. Paul is Richardson Elementary School. Nestled in the residential area of the city, Richardson serves over 500 students from grades K-5. The goal of the school is to develop students into citizens who can effectively and constructively function in an ever-changing democratic society. The staff at Richardson works hard to instill pride, responsibility, and a love of learning into each student. Various curriculum is taught at the school, with extra resources for math, reading, and english. After school clubs are also available to students, including Adventure Connection, which improves students mental, physical, social growth.       

Located on 17th Avenue of North St. Paul is Christ Lutheran Evangelical School. This private education school focuses on strengthening student’s faith and providing education that is Christ-centered. Students grades K-8 are served by teaching staff that has an average of 15 years of experience. Classrooms sizes are an average of 20 students to teacher and graduates of Christ Lutheran have consistently excelled at the high school and college level. A wide-range of curriculum is taught to students extracurricular activities such as band and sport such as soccer, basketball, and baseball available to students. The school is also well equipped with a wide-open gym, large playground, hot lunch program, centralized library, and health service.

The city of North St. Paul contains one public high school, which is North High School. North High School, home of the Polars, is a college-preparatory school that provides small classes within two different academies. Established in 1905, North High School is known for its outstanding academic achievement and, in 2010, was named by Newsweek as one of the top 1,300 schools in the country. The well-equipped teaching staff at North uses world-renowned international education programs, which helps students to perform above average on the most rigorous assessments. The high school offers numerous higher-level courses, including PSEO and AP courses. Extracurricular activities such as band, choir, debate, and theatre are available to students. Athletic opportunities also exist with sports teams such as basketball, baseball, football, soccer, swim and dive, volleyball, and cross-country.
