Deerwood lies between Interstate 494 and Baker Road in southeast Minnetonka. This established neighborhood is known for its mature trees and spacious lots. The majority of homes are ranch and traditional two story style homes that range between $175,000 to $400,000. Deerwood consists of just under 50 single family homes.

Residents of Deerwood are served by the Hopkins School District. The Hopkins School District serves seven different western suburbs of Minneapolis and approximately 8,000 students in grades K-12. Glen Lake Elementary is the closest school to Deerwood, located just a couple miles west over 494. The school has around 470 students and a student/teacher ratio of 15, serving students in grades K-6.
