City of Sunfish Lake: Parks & Trails

Because of its small size, Sunfish Lake does not have many options within the city limits. However, due to its close proximity to larger cities, Sunfish Lake residents enjoy many amenities conveniently close to home.

Salem Hills Park: located in Inver Grove Heights, is just minutes from Sunfish Lake. The neighborhood park is comprised of 41 acres. Within the park, locals enjoy 1,812 feet of natural trails. This park specially offers mountain biking, boasting 22,294 feet of mountain biking trails. Each September, Harmon Park Reserve hosts the Harmon Farms five and ten-mile trail run.

Dodge Nature Center:  A great amenity just minutes from the heart of Sunfish Lake. Dodge Nature Center is an environmental education organization that spans over 460 acres in the cities of West St. Paul, Mendota Heights as well as Cottage Grove.  Founded by Olivia Irvine Dodge in 1967, visitors today enjoy a variety of opportunities and experiences.  People of all ages explore the prairies, lakes, wetlands, hardwood forests, and a farm.  On this beautiful land, there are eight miles of hiking trails open 24/7, seven days a week for locals and visitors alike, Dodge Nature Center offers community education opportunities on evenings and weekends.  Each year, this park serves over 40,000 children and families through education and entertainment.  From hiking to farm animals from concerts to tapping for maple syrup from picnics to snow shoeing, there is year round fun for all ages.
