City of St. Francis: Parks & Trails

The city of St. Francis covers a total area of 23.97 square miles and is home to nine different parks. The parks within the city of St. Francis offers numerous recreational activities that all residents can enjoy. Residents can experience all the amenities the parks have to offer while enjoying the beauty surrounding St. Francis.

Rum River North Country Park: An 80 acre park located in the center of St. Francis on the Rum River. Rum River Park is the north access to the Rum River Canoe Corridor that starts in St. Francis and ends in Anoka. At Rum River, residents can enjoy the beautiful natural features including restored natural prairies, beautiful vistas of the Rum River, and thick hardwood forests. Other features include picnic pavilions, playground equipment, fishing pier, and scenic overlooks.

Community Park: located in the south central part of St. Francis offering numerous outdoor activities that all residents can enjoy. Some of the amenities at Community Park include park shelter, concessions, playground equipment, volleyball court, baseball field, walking paths, open green space, hockey rink, and warming house. Community Park is excellent place to enjoy the outdoors year round.

Bethel Wildlife Management Area: As a part of Minnesota’s outdoor recreation system was created to help protect the natural landscape and wildlife in the area. Bethel Wildlife Management Area features public hunting, fishing, trapping, and several other outdoor recreational options. Wildlife Management Areas are designed to help protect the natural environment for future generations to enjoy and provide great areas for hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
