The city of Scandia, Minnesota is made up of a small-town community of 4,000 residents. The community is built around its motto “dedicated to rural community values.” Residents of the historic town value the spacious setting and tight-knit community. Scandia’s community is largely built upon its events, amenities, and location.

The City of Scandia makes sure to keep all of its residents connected with annual events. These events serve to preserve the city’s rich history and anticipate its bright future. One of these events is the annual Taco Daze Dodgeball Tournament, which is held within the Scandia Community Center.

Another popular event is Vinterfest. At this event, residents of the town celebrate Scandia’s rich Swedish heritage. Vinterfest includes different competitive events, including a hockey tournament, snow sculpture contest, fishing contest, and button design contest.

Residents also partake in sledding, a pancake breakfast, bonfire with s’mores, a vintage snowmobile show, beer garden, and fireworks. The City of Scandia is also a host location for the Minnesota Ironman Bicycle Ride.
