The city of Savage, Minnesota is one of the cities located south of the Minnesota River. With close to 29,000 residents and a land area of 16.45 square miles, Savage is known for its peaceful atmosphere and close community. Savage is also known for having a mix of residential and rural areas. As one of the bedroom communities surrounding the Twin Cities metro area, Savage has seen growth in recent years and many have chosen to call it’s open spaces and scenic beauty home.

Savage is located 19 miles south of Minneapolis next to the major suburban, employment cities of Burnsville, Bloomington, and Eden Prairie. It is this close proximity to so many large cities that has bolstered Savage’s own community growth. The major road running through the city is Minnesota Highway 13 which connects to US Highway 169 and Interstate 35W. These two highways were the biggest contributors to the city of Savage’s development. Savage was at one point disconnected from the rest of the suburbs by the Minnesota River, but these roads now connect the city to the majority of the Twin Cities metro area, giving Savage’s residents easy access to the entire region.
