The city of Jordan, Minnesota is home to ten unique parks offering both passive and active outdoor recreational options. Residents can enjoy sporting events, swimming, natural scenery, gardens, and more throughout the numerous parks. Some of the most notable parks include:

Holzer Park: Holzer Park was named after a local sports fan, Jackie Holzer. It has two softball fields, a pavilion, picnic grounds, and restrooms, making it a wonderful destination for visitors of all ages. Used for community softball games, Holzer Park is a great location to catch a game or have a picnic.

Mini Met Ball Park: A center for hometown baseball, “The Mini-Met” has received outside recognition for its wonderful atmosphere. As the home of many community teams, leagues, and the local high school team, the Mini Met is appreciated by the whole community. Residents are encouraged to come to a game during the warmer months and support the team. The park also features a basketball court, skateboard park, and winter ice skating rink.

Lagoon Park: Lagoon Park is located on Mill Pond near the center of Jordan. A peaceful, scenic park, Lagoon Park offers numerous trails and nature areas for visitors to enjoy. It is the home of Sand Creek and some small waterfalls. Additionally, visitors can make use of horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, a sand swimming beach, a fishing pier, and a picnic area with restrooms. In the winter, a skating rink opens up and a warming house is available for visitors. The entrance to the park features a patriotic flagpole ensemble, historic cannon, and a bench dedicated to a fallen hometown hero.

Pekarna Park: Pekarna Park offers passive recreation for those who appreciate natural beauty. With a relaxing gazebo and public gardens, the park is a great location for a summer picnic or for pictures with loved ones. Every December, the park is lit with spectacular lights for the holiday season. A peaceful haven within the city, Pekarna Park offers tranquility throughout the year.

MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge: A massive, 11,000-acre wildlife refuge stretching across numerous cities in the Twin Cities metro area, the MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge is the largest national wildlife area in an urban location. Its visitor center is located in eastern Bloomington near the Mall of America. Visitors of the refuge can expect to see an abundance of wildlife in a variety of habitats. Residents of Jordan have easy access to the park and it’s natural beauty through the neighboring city of Carver.
