City of Crystal: Parks & Trails

The city of Crystal, Minnesota is home to over 240 acres of parkland. With 28 parks, as well as a number of other outdoor amenities, residents of Crystal cherish the wonderful outdoor opportunities that exist within the city. Some of the most notable parks include:

Bassett Creek Park: The largest of Crystal’s community parks, Bassett Creek Park is a 70-acre park that is rich with amenities. Including a playground, basketball and tennis courts, a hockey rink, dog park, picnic shelters, trails, a baseball field, and a softball field, there is truly something for everyone at Bassett Creek Park. In addition, the park features cross country skiing trails and skating in the winter months.

Becker Park: Becker Park is a 12.4-acre specialty park located in Crystal. In addition to offering a playground, basketball and tennis courts, a softball field, trails, and picnic areas, Becker Park also features an activity center with a stage. This makes it a perfect location for community events, live music, and even small, theatrical productions.

Lions Valley Place Park: The Lions Valley Place Park is a 19.8-acre sporting area for Crystal’s residents. Featuring basketball and tennis courts, a playground, a softball field, paved trails, outdoor grills, and a picnic shelter, the park is a popular and busy summer destination. As the site of many different sporting games, the Lions Valley Place Park is a central community location. Additionally, the park offers a hockey rink, ice skating rink, sledding hill, and warming house in the winter.

North Lions Park: The North Lions Park is another park in Crystal that was sponsored by the local Lions Club. At 12 acres, the park offers great amenities with a smaller, quieter atmosphere than Crystal’s other community parks. The North Lions Park includes basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, a playground, a baseball field, a picnic shelter, outdoor grills, and paved trails. In addition, the park has a sledding hill in the wintertime.

Hagemeister Pond Preserve: A small, 7-acre park that services the local neighborhood as well as the city as a whole, Hagemeister offers a nice walking trail around the pond as well as a beautiful overlook and gazebo to enjoy the nature and birds that find rest and relaxation in the pond. There are also several wood sculptures of birds situated throughout the park.
