Brooklyn Center Community Schools (district 286) prides itself in providing excellent academics to students in pre-k through 12th grade. A small district with big opportunities, this district provides students a wide range of academic options that nurture their unique strengths and interests, including the prestigious International Baccalaureate program and arts magnet programs. The district’s mission is to equip every student with the knowledge, life-skills, and global perspectives to contribute to society and respond to the needs of an ever-changing world. The district services an elementary school, Brooklyn Center Arts and IB World School, Brooklyn Center Academy, Insight Online School, and a high school.

Earle Brown Elementary is the local elementary school in the area. This school strives to create a learning environment that helps learners recognize the value of individual differences, display ethical behavior, achieve success in their work, and identify their role in a continually changing world. The elementary school is one of the top schools in the area.

Brooklyn Center Arts and IB World School enrolls student in 6th through 12th grade and provides an innovative and comprehensive education. Students also receive the opportunity to participate in the college-readiness AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, which is a program that helps less motivated students achieve greater success.

Brooklyn Center Academy allows those that do not do well in a traditional high school setting to still find a way to receive and education, a diploma, and most importantly, a way to further themselves in their post-secondary efforts.

Brooklyn Center High School serves close to 850 students annually. This is one of the smaller public high schools in the state, and it heavily promotes a family community. The school offers excellent athletic, arts, and academics to its students annually.
