With a population of 900 residents, Grandview is situated in the northwest quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north by Interlachen Boulevard, on the east by Highway 100, on the south by the railroad tracks that run just along the Our Lady of Grace Church and School, and on the west by Hanson Road. The neighborhood has a combination of purposes, with single family and multi-family residential areas, along with commercial and retail developments, restaurants, parks, and libraries all within its borders.
Of the 385 homes, most are either condos or ramblers that were built in the 1950’s. Edina is continuing a master plan for the Grandview District, which will include additional retail and housing options in the future. Today, this area is home to popular local destinations like Jerry’s Foods, Davanni’s Pizza, Starbucks, Edina Family Physicians, and Our Lady of Grace Church and School. One of the most popular local destinations is the Eden Avenue Grill. Known for their delicious malts and comfortable, four seasons porch, the Eden Avenue Grill has been a part of the neighborhood since 1977.
The Edina Library, located within the Grandview Neighborhood, was first established in Linden Hills School beginning in 1921. In the following decades, the library operated out of many locations in the area. Its first long-lasting location opened in 1968 on West 50th Street. In 2002, Edina Library moved to its current location, which it shares with the Edina Senior Center. It is a member of the Hennepin County Library System. A library system that is consistently ranked in the top 10 libraries nationwide, residents have access to all of the books and resources that are a part of this network through an interlibrary loan program.
