The City of Montrose, Minnesota is located 35 miles west of the Twin Cities in Wright County. Named after Montrose, Scotland, the City of Montrose, Minnesota was platted 1878 and incorporated in 1881. Since 1880, the population of Montrose has grown from just over 140 people to it’s present day population of 3,009. Montrose covers a total area of 3.21 square miles and is home to 1,043 households and 734 families. The main route to access the city of Montrose is US Highway 12.
