Rigorous academics are provided, which prepare students for college and their futures. Advanced Placement courses are offered, and the participation rate in AP courses is 76 percent. The student-teacher ratio is 19:1, and Mahtomedi High School is known for excellent academic scores. In 2015, the school received the National Blue Ribbon Award for academic excellence. Mahtomedi High is ranked 6th of all high schools in the state.
