City of Roseville: Schools & District 623

The city of Roseville, Minnesota is served by its own Roseville Area School District (ISD 623).  The district is home to seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. The mission of the Roseville Area School District is to provide, “quality teaching and learning for all…equity for all.” The Roseville Area School District is made up of 7 different communities: Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Little Canada, Lauderdale, Maplewood, Roseville, and Shoreview. This unique aspect of the School District, allows students to meet and build relationships with students from many different cultures, families, and areas.

One of the elementary schools in the Roseville Area School District is Falcon Heights Elementary School. Falcon heights is home to 485 students in grades K-6. The Falcon Heights staff is, “committed to assuring that each child strives for proficiency in all academic areas and in our Falcon Four – Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Belong.” Falcon Heights provides an environment conducive to learning, growth, and the building of social skills in elementary students.

The Mounds View School District (ISD 621) is also in the city of Roseville. The mission of the school district is to, “educate learners through a broad range of programs that set high expectations and inspire outstanding achievement.” The Mounds View School District has 6 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and two high schools and a great reputation for learning.  The graduating class of 2014 from Mounds View High School had an average ACT score of 25.7.  That is 4.7 points higher than the national average, and 2.8 points higher than the state average.

Roseville has many private schools, one being Concordia Academy, which is of the Lutheran denomination. Concordia Academy is a premier college prep high school. The mission of Concordia Academy is to “provide purposeful learning opportunities that invite spiritual growth while nurturing excellence in academics, arts, athletics, and relationships.” Concordia lives up to that statement by providing 88 college courses in the schools, the most courses offered by any high school in Minnesota. Concordia Academy also boasts a 14:1 student to teacher ratio. Also, 94% of graduates go on to a post-secondary educational institution. The other private schooling option is St. Rose of Lima, a private Catholic K-8 school.
