The Central community is located in the heart of Minneapolis. Comprised of 6 separate neighborhoods that collectively form what is commonly known as “downtown Minneapolis”, the Central community is one of the most recognizable communities within the entire state of Minnesota. The community is home to 30,000 residents, and serves as the center of business activity for the city as a whole. Home to famous landmarks such as the Minneapolis skyline, Target Field, U.S. Bank Stadium, the Guthrie Theater, and much, much more, there is lots to be excited about when exploring the Central community.
Because of its location, the Central community is a major passageway for transportation. The main routes through the community are Interstate 94, which runs along the eastern portion, Interstate 394 beginning and ending near Target Field, and Interstate 35W, which travels from the northern and southern ends. These three main highways, as well as the Mississippi River, completely encompass the community.
