Although Carver might seem like a quiet city nestled next to the Minnesota River Valley, there are many opportunities for residents and guests to enjoy including shops, restaurants, churches, and events to explore and enjoy with the entire family.

Carver offers many shopping opportunities in the historic downtown area. Carver Flowers is a full-service floral studio and gift shop located in a beautiful 145-year-old historic building. They offer beautiful floral designs and delivery as well as antiques, gifts, cards, and a friendly hello. Both Carver and Chaska offer several “Occasional Shops” which are open on the third weekend of each month and are known for their rare antiques, unique treasures, and special events.

The ‘Fleet Farm’ Store in Carver, is the 3rd largest in North America and has become an iconic part of the newer part of the city. They provided a wide range of merchandise including pet supplies, hunting gear, fishing equipment, farm supplies, work clothing, tools, household supplies, equipment rentals, and more!

Residents and visitors enjoy the local restaurants and bars including Harvey’s, Lisa’s Place, and the Dog House. The coffee shop, Cup of Carver, offers snacks, beverages, and WiFi to those needing a quiet, cozy place to read a book or meet a friend.

Several churches are located within the city as well as many others nearby for residents to attend. A small express library is located within the Carver Station on Hartwell Drive, as well as the Chaska library is a short five-minute drive away.

The Chaska Community Center is also minutes from downtown Carver and offers activities for children, teens and adults, an indoor swimming pool, outdoor splash pad, basketball and volleyball courts, a gym, ice rink, and community classes.

Several groups of residents make up the Carver Lions as well as a nonprofit group called Carver on the Minnesota. These groups arrange dinners, fundraisers, silent auctions, and so much more, all to help those in need.

Annual events and seasonal activities draw many to the area and provide great fun for all walks of life.  Steamboat Days celebrates the heritage of Carver every year the first weekend after Labor Day.  The weekend is full of events including horseshoe and softball tournaments, live music, street dances, pet shows, car shows, a treasure hunt, water fights, a parade, food and beverage vendors, and an exciting firework show. Local churches even hold silent auctions and bazaars as well as serving refreshments. The Parks and Rec department also organizes seasonal events including an outdoor movie night during the summer months at Community Park.  The city is great at putting together new activities and events to cater to the growing community.
