Originally named Richmond, Randolph Township was established on April 20th, 1858. After  it was discovered that there was another town by the name of Richmond, it was suggested that the township be named Randolph after the Virginia Statesman John Randolph. The city of Randolph was incorporated on November 15th, 1904 as a railroad town for the Chicago Great Western Railroad Company.

In recent decades the city of Randolph has continued to grow and thrive as a rural small town community. Since it’s incorporation, the city of Randolph has continued to grow and has seen an increase in population from 182 in 1910 to over 440 people today. It is home to 168 houses, 118 families, and several businesses.
