With over 10 square miles of land, the City of Hastings has plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities to offer its residents. During the winter, residents take advantage of the hockey and skating rinks in Lions Park, as well as the park warming house.

Pioneer Park: Because of its central location in Hastings, Pioneer Park is well-visited destination for the community. Many amenities are available in the park, including a basketball court, softball field, and baseball fields. Veterans Athletic Complex: The largest sports complex in Hastings is the Veterans Athletic Complex located on the eastern half of the city. The complex is spread over 48 acres of land with 1 lighted baseball field, 4 soccer fields, and 4 lighted softball fields. Picnic tables and playground equipment are also located in Veterans Athletic Complex.  

Vermillion Falls Park: Vermillion River runs through the City of Hastings, providing for much of the recreational activity in the community. Vermillion Falls is one of the most scenic destinations in Hastings, where residents can enjoy the breathtaking fall landscape. Outdoor enthusiasts also love hiking up and down the sides of Vermillion Falls and the surrounding wooded areas. Amenities on the park grounds include picnic tables and a picnic shelter.

C.P. Adams Park: This community park includes amenities such as horseshoe pits, picnic tables, and a soccer field. However, the most popular feature at C.P Adams Park is its Disc Golf Course. The course consists of 18 holes spread over the entirety of the park for all residents to enjoy.

Lake Isabel Park: Lake Isabel provides numerous water activities for residents of Hastings. At Lake Isabel Park, water amenities include a boat launch and fishing pier. A skating rink is also available for use during the winter and, during the summer, outdoor activities like basketball and softball can be experienced on the park’s fields. Other amenities include playground equipment and picnic tables.
