With 53 parks, 144 miles of trails and 1200 acres of parkland, the city of Plymouth, Minnesota features one of the nation’s premier park systems. A picturesque blend of rolling hills and tranquil lakes, Plymouth offers its citizens a wealth of outdoor recreation options. Some of the most notable examples include:

East and West Medicine Lake Parks: Located on opposite sides of Plymouth’s largest lake, Medicine Lake, the East and West Medicine Lake Parks both provide swimming access, boat launches, fishing, trails, canoe storage, and playgrounds. The West park is larger than the East, and also offers basketball and volleyball courts. These two parks provide residents of Plymouth the perfect location for a hot summer day, with ample opportunities for fun in the water.

Parkers Lake Park: While a smaller lake than Medicine Lake, Parkers Lake Park offers similar amenities for those seeking summer entertainment. It features two picnic shelters, a playground, running/jogging trails, a boat launch, a fishing pier, rentable canoe storage, concessions during the beach season, and restrooms. During the winter time, a skating rink is groomed on the beautiful Parkers Lake with a warming house open for the public. A re-creation of a historic log cabin building is used for classes and special events. The park also is home to an amphitheater used for concerts.

Plymouth Creek Park: Featuring a disc golf course, playground, picnic areas, and trails, Plymouth Creek Park offers outdoor recreation opportunities for all ages and is a great place to take the family. Additionally, the disc golf course is free to play and is a popular summer activity.

Timber Shores Park: Offering a small lake with a boat launch, fishing, softball and baseball fields, trails, a picnic shelter, and a playground. Timber Shores Park is a quieter alternative to some of the larger parks in Plymouth and offers a good balance between active and passive outdoor recreational options.

In addition to the parks mentioned, Plymouth also features another disc golf course, numerous dog parks, and a skate park.
