Whether a place is needed to work out, or just to have a fun time, the Shoreview Community Center is the one stop center for all people living in Shoreview. Also located in Shoreview is one of the 7 libraries connected via the Ramsey County Library system. With its floor to ceiling windows, it is a great place to curl up with a book and enjoy some peaceful solitude.

Shoreview also has many organizations that residents can join. One of them is the Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band. Established in 1994, the band is composed of wind instruments and percussion instruments. With over 80 members, many of which are families, the Northern Lights Variety Band feels, quite literally, like a family. The Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band plays two formal concerts each year, one in the spring and one in December which members of the community always look forward to.

Shoreview is home to many city hosted events and activities, their pride and joy being the Slice of Shoreview Days. Slice of Shoreview Days is a weekend long celebration at the end of July. Events include fireworks, an art show, a car show, live bands, a parade, and much more. The weekend is centered around fun and community. Another great way to build community in Shoreview is through the Shoreview Farmers’ Market. It is hosted weekly at the Shoreview Community Center. It is home to locally grown produce, hand crafted artisan items, and also features live bands. Another fun event held in August and September is the Friday Night Flix. The community center shows a movie every Friday night in one of their outdoor pavilions. This is a perfect event for families and friends to enjoy each other's company as well as a great movie.

Amidst all the amenities, organizations, and events, Shoreview also takes great pride in its 10 city parks and over 1400 acres of parks and open space. Shoreview’s emphasis on providing top notch facilities, great communal organizations, and many community building events, in combination with their beautiful wildlife and natural resources, makes Shoreview the ideal city for those looking for the small town feel with the perks of the big city.

Ramsey County

Ramsey County is often described as being on the east side of the river, but whether east or west Ramsey County is a great place to raise a family and enjoy a lot of state history. Surrounded by Hennepin, Anoka, Washington, and Dakota County, Ramsey County is home to Minnesota’s state capital, Saint Paul. The state capital, with its golden horses on top of the traditional styled capital building is really a sight to be seen and enjoyed by all throughout the state.
