New Brighton is a small suburb northeast of Minneapolis that border Interstate 35 West. Its population is just above 21,000, making it smaller than its surrounding cities like Roseville. Also in the New Brighton Community Center is the New Brighton branch of the Ramsey County Library System. The New Brighton Library offers over 40,000 materials, 20 computers, and wireless internet. Another great amenity of that New Brighton offers is the Brightwood Golf Course. The 30 par, 1500+ yard course has a little bit for everyone. Brightwood even features a driving range. Whether you are a child learning the ropes of golf, a businessman going for a casual golf excursion, or you are looking to master your golf abilities, Brightwood Golf Course can help you out.

One of the main event held throughout the year is Stockyard Days. Stockyard days is a week long festival celebrating and remembering New Brighton’s rich cattle industry roots. The festivities include a golf tournament, car shows, karaoke contests, a movie night, fireworks, and much more. Another unique event that New Brighton residents look forward to each year is the New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run. As its name suggests, this event begins in New London and ends in New Brighton. It features a vast array of antique cars. This years newest car was built in 1912!

One of the great organizations in New Brighton is the New Brighton Area Historical Society. Founded in 1980, the historical society has since built a History Center and is home to the Great Northern Caboose. This antique caboose has been repainted by the historical society and the interior is currently being refurbished. New Brighton is also home to a VFW, a chapter of a League of Women Voters, a co-op Rotary Club with Mounds View, and much more. It is worth noting that there are organizations dedicated to organizing and running Stockyard Days and New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run. This allows residents to have a great say in the fan-favorite events throughout the year.

With its numerous public organizations, unique, fun, and family-friendly events, and its numerous top-notch amenities, New Brighton has a little bit of something for everyone. New Brighton’s premier location, and its smaller suburban population make it idea for families, singles, and anyone looking for a city that provides a great environment for its residents.

Ramsey County

Ramsey County is often described as being on the east side of the river, but whether east or west Ramsey County is a great place to raise a family and enjoy a lot of state history. Surrounded by Hennepin, Anoka, Washington, and Dakota County, Ramsey County is home to Minnesota’s state capital, Saint Paul. The state capital, with its golden horses on top of the traditional styled capital building is really a sight to be seen and enjoyed by all throughout the state.

Ramsey County is much more than just where the state capital resides.
