Saint Cloud is located in the center of Minnesota and is approximately an hour northwest of the Twin Cities while traveling highway 94. It is the county seat for Stearns County, and is ranked as Minnesota’s 9th largest city. Some of the features of the city of Saint Cloud is that the Mississippi River runs right through the middle of it. The city also is home to the third-largest public university, St. Cloud State University, a school that was founded almost 150 years ago. The school hosts on average over 15,000 students annually and over 100,000 alumni.
Some other features of Saint Cloud is that the city’s business district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which gives the downtown a real feel and mixture of combining older buildings with new architecture and design. The city also has a great art scene with its restored 700+ seating performance theatre, which brings in both local, and regional acts. Traveling is also easy for the people of Saint Cloud, because of the regional airport that can connect people to the main airport in Minneapolis, but also to other regional destinations.
