The community of Chaska offers a wide variety of dining, shopping, and other activities that the whole family can enjoy.  Whether it’s a round of golf with the guys, a ladies night downtown or an afternoon at the splash pad, everyone is sure to find enjoyment within the city limits of the beautiful city of Chaska.

One of the great things about Chaska is that it is a suburb nestled right along the Minnesota River, close enough to the big city but distant enough to experience the beauty of rolling hills, calming brooks and the rushing river. Trails are woven throughout the community to connect neighborhoods and parks. Playgrounds and picnic shelters are scattered around the city to provide beautiful places for family and friends to gather and for kids to play at.  Chaska is home to three golf courses which offer more amazing green space for residents to enjoy as they tee off and take in the scenery. The Chaska Community Center acts as a hub to the community as it offers adult and child education, theater, aquatics, adult fitness, party rooms, a gymnasium, ice skating, childcare, indoor playgrounds, and so much more.

Chaska boasts a wide array of shopping as well. Everyday groceries can be found at one of many grocery markets such as Cub Foods, Target, Coopers County Market, Chaska Market, or Von Hanson’s. Kohl’s is another big name department store in the community. One doesn’t need to travel too far for home improvement goods as Home Depot and Ace Hardware have it covered. Many enjoy the specialty and gift shops scattered throughout the community, such as Yellow Brick Trading Company, Beadville USA or Dolce Vita Wine Shop. Antique stores such as Shop 501 and Linda’s Cellar are also an attraction for a large number of individuals, offering one of a kind antiques to fill your home. Other shops and services line the streets of Chaska providing easy access and local stops for residents and visitors that want to run quick errands or make leisurely visits.

If the shopping isn’t enough, Chaska’s variety of restaurants can satisfy all cuisine cravings.  If one is inspired to find Asian cuisine, China Pagoda, Rising Dragon, and Sake Sushi have it covered. Authentic Mexican flavors can be found at Patron, Qdoba, and Chaska My Love. Many local bar favorites include Heartbreaker’s, Cuzzy’s Brick House, Cy’s Liquor, and the American Legion. Burger and other American dishes can be found at dozens of restaurants, including a small town joint right along the river called Tommy’s Malt Shop.  For the coffee aficionados, a Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, and Dunn Brothers Coffee offer delicious drinks and a cozy spot to chat with a friend or read a book.

Out of town visitors can enjoy a stay at one of three lodging options: Grandstay Hotel and Suites, Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center, and Super 8. Churches and non-profits of all kinds call Chaska home as they seek to welcome residents and make the world a better place. The Chaska library is one of many libraries in the Carver County Library system and it offers a variety of literature, computers, meetings rooms and events such as story-time for kids.  Other government services available in downtown Chaska include the Post Office, Department of Motor Vehicles and the Government Center.

Chaska offers several annual events that bring its residents together. River City Days is perhaps the most well-known summer community celebration of life along the Minnesota River. The annual weekend includes live entertainment, food, games, an art and craft fair, talent shows, a fun run, golf events, photo contests, and more. It is a fun weekend for the whole family to enjoy. Other fun events throughout the year include family movies nights, ice cream socials, bike rides, concerts, races, camps, lessons, and so much more.
