Sunfish Lake, Minnesota is situated in Independent School District 197. All or some parts of Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake, Lilydale, and West St. Paul are served by the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School District. Garlough Environmental Magnet School (GEMS) is an elementary school located in West St. Paul, which serves many children from Sunfish Lake.
