The city of St. Louis Park, Minnesota is defined by its location in the Twin Cities metro area and its population size. With a little over 47,000 residents, and located just outside of Minneapolis, St. Louis Park joins it’s neighboring cities of Minnetonka and Edina as one of the larger suburban residential areas in Minnesota. A final popular event is the Parktacular! celebration. With a grand parade, art treasure hunt, Belgian waffle brunch, and live music throughout, this celebration has been around since the 1990’s and is a staple of the St. Louis Park community. Its focus is on community fellowship and having a good time.

St. Louis Park has a number of businesses within its city limits. Many are found at the two shopping malls. The Shops at West End feature higher-end, specialty stores with an emphasis on style and elegance. A very popular shopping center for the more affluent, the Shops at West End offers some of the best products and brands. The other shopping center in St. Louis Park is the Shoppes at Knollwood. Offering more than 222 different flavors, and specializing in coffee cheesecakes, Muddy Paws was recognized as a “Best of St. Louis Park” winner by St. Louis Park magazine, for its wonderful desserts. St. Louis Park is also home to celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern’s business, Food Works, Inc. Star of the hit show Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern makes St. Louis Park his home and runs a number of ventures, as well as his unique food truck, in the St. Louis Park area. St. Louis Park is also home to it’s own movie theater as well as many other local businesses.

Amenities within St. Louis Park are plentiful. St. Louis Park has its own library that belongs to the Hennepin County Library system. A library system that is consistently ranked in the top 10 libraries nationwide, residents have access to all of the books and resources that are a part of this network through an interlibrary loan program. It also has community education available through the public school system. Offering a variety of courses ranging in a number of subjects, community education is a great way to for community members to try out new hobbies or learn new skills.
