City of Champlin: Schools & District 11

The city of Champlin, Minnesota is served by the school district of Anoka-Hennepin Schools, or school district 11. This district is the largest in the state as it enrolls over 38,000 students annually and serves all or parts of 13 different cities. It is the primary mission of the Anoka-Hennepin School District to effectively educate each of its students for success. This district has twenty-four elementary schools, six middle schools, and five high schools, plus an  award-winning Community Education program.

The award-winning Community Education within the district offers a wide variety of classes and activities for all ages. Early Childhood Family Education offers classes, events, playtimes and other opportunities that allow parents to understand their children in the best ways possible. An array of activities are offered for youth as well as its program helps them reach their teen years. Even those 18 and older are able to find something at this fascinating place.

Oxbow Creek Elementary is the only elementary school in the district actually located in Champlin. This school takes pride in being a Minnesota School of Excellence as they enroll close to 1,200 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Oxbow creek has a full curriculum that will challenge the young students to do their absolute best at all times. This is a wonderful community to raise children to develop and grow.

As a growing community, Jackson Middle School serves students in 6th through 8th grade. Located in Champlin, MN, Jackson enrolls students that are on the Hennepin County side of the school district. The school is a specialty math and science school, and the style of learning within it is inquiry based. The staff will challenge each student throughout their time at Jackson, and prepare them in the best ways possible for high school.

Champlin Park High School (CPHS) features a state of the art technology program that makes it a state leader in innovation. The high school has been rapidly growing, as it has neared the maximum number of students at 3,300 several times. Advanced Placement, Honors, International Baccalaureate, and College Possible and AVID are just a few of the college preparatory classes offered. CPHS has a wide variety of extracurricular activities to offer its students from athletics to arts. “Newsweek Top School,” a distinction recognizing the top high schools across the country, was given to CPHS three years in a row from 2012-2014.
