Students in New Trier, Minnesota are served by Independent School District 200, which also includes Hampton, Hastings, New Trier, Vermillion, and portions of Denmark, Douglas, Marshan, Nininger, Ravenna, and Vermillion Townships. Hastings Public Schools serves 4,700 students, and their mission is: working in partnership with the family and the community to educate individuals to be responsible, lifelong learners who possess the skills, knowledge, creativity, sense of self-worth, and ethical values necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing, culturally diverse, global society.

Christa McAuliffe Elementary School is one of three elementary schools in the district. In total, Christa McAuliffe serves about 510 students. Caring staff is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for each student. Christa McAuliffe believe that parents play an important role in their child’s education, and because of this, there is active involvement through communication with staff, participation in Parent Teacher Connection, and volunteering at the school. Christa McAuliffe has high quality specialists in art, media, physical education, music, and computer lab. Parents also have the option of Kids Kampus program, which offers before and after school daycare for Christa McAuliffe students.

Hastings Middle School (HMS) is: a diverse community working cooperatively to learn and grow in a caring environment. HMS provides excellent academics and has been recognized three times as a National School of Excellence. Students enjoy various extracurricular opportunities, including athletics and clubs such as theater, jazz band, speech, science olympiad, writing club, and many more.

Hastings High School (HHS) serves students in grades 9-12. The school is home to twelve core departments, six of which offer Advanced Placement courses. Students of all abilities are welcome at HHS with their Special Services team caring and supporting all special needs learners. The 100 acre campus was built in 2001 and today serves 1,400 students. The Hastings Raiders Athletics features 32 varsity sports and claims 12 state championships in 10 different sports. HHS also offers adapted athletics and has won 16 team state championships. Non-athletic extracurricular opportunities include band, orchestra, vocals, speech, theatre, and more.
