Folwell neighborhood is located in northwestern Minneapolis and rests within the community of Camden. The neighborhood is attached to Folwell Park. Both the park and neighborhood were named for Dr. William W. Folwell. This individual was the first president of the University of Minnesota. With 2,100 households and a diverse population of approximately 6,300 residents, the neighborhood provides residential space for commuters who want to live close to work, but not too close to the commercial locations within Minneapolis.

Folwell homes were built at the start of the 20th century with mostly single-family housing. Many of the homes were built in the styles of bungalow or craftsman and are typically one story high with access to garages that are detached from the main house. Alleys are very common within the community. This neighborhood offers good options residentially for its locals, as they enjoy the close-knit culture.

The Folwell neighborhood, while mainly residential, does offer its residents some amenities. The neighborhood is home to numerous places of worship, a few convenience stores and markets, and several small restaurants and local businesses. Additionally, the Folwell neighborhood is within close distance of thousands of other amenities located within Minneapolis.

The Folwell neighborhood has one park located within it:

Folwell Park: As one of the largest parks located in North Minneapolis, Folwell Park has become a parks and recreation center for those living within the Camden community. This is largely due to its extensive events and amenities. At nearly 27 acres, the park hosts baseball/softball fields, basketball court, biking/walking paths, football/soccer fields, playground, tennis court, and a wading pool. Additionally, the park is home to the Folwell Recreation Center. The center offers a community kitchen, computer lab, craft room, gymnasium, meeting room and multipurpose room.
